▒ Prolog
▒ Zeichnungen
▒ Adam 1,2
↗ britishmuseum.org
Dürer's Adam and Eve
Albrecht Dürer's engraving 'Adam and Eve' is one of the artist's best-known and most famous works. The period leading up to the completion of the work was marked by numerous sketches, some of which were inspired by antiquity. This website looks at the various preparatory sketches and then focuses on the engraving itself. The final section of the exhibition looks at the development of the Adam and Eve motif in the form of an oversized oil painting.
